Mad Men Party at Bloomingdale's

I attended the Estée Lauder Mad Men event at Bloomingdale's in NYC.
I got my makeup done with Estée Lauder products and I was blown away by the Mad-tinis and hors d’oeuvres served at the party. The event was so amazing. Everybody was so great. The best think at the event was the photo booth. I didn't expect all the good treatment that I received from the people working at the Estée Lauder counter. It was my birthday that day and for sure that I had a great evening thanks to Estée Lauder and Bloomingdale's
I couldn't resist to pre-order my Mad Men Collection and I will pick it up tomorrow. So excited!!!
That red lipstick in Cherry is so gorgeous and looks so good on me.....

My Birthday Gift from Sephora

I received a gift card from Sephora to redeem this Sugar Lip Treatment Duo from Fresh. I love Fresh facial products. Their Soy Face Cleanser is so amazing and so gently on the skin.

I have never tried their lip treatments before, but I am very excited to try out this duo.

Welcome Spring

Happy First day of Spring everybody!!!!! It is a gorgeous day today. I had my little surgery and it was not as bad as I thought it would be (Thanks God).

I want to take the opportunity to give thanks to God and the universe for all the good things that I have in my life: My dear family, my health and the health of my family, my friends, my work and my honey bunny.

All about Primers

I'd like to wear a primer before my foundation because I have oily skin and I need something to help my foundation to last longer and to not change its color during the day.

My current favorite is Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. It's a light formula that glides perfectly on the skin and also moisturizes it. 

I also like to use a lash primer to make my eyelashes look endearing and to get the best out of any mascara. This lash primer from Clinique helps your mascara to hold better to your lashes and to create longer and fuller lashes. 

Of course, my eyelid primer. I cannot prescind from an eyelid primer. I have been very loyal to the BareMineral primer. I haven't tried or used any other eyelid primers. It really changed my perception about applying eyeshadows. I was tired of seeing my eyeshadow creasing or fading away in a few hours after application. This product really changed that and leave all that behind. I love it!!

And finally, my lip primer from Urban Decay. Don't you hate to have to re-touch your lipstick in the middle of a nice dinner or before taking pictures at a special event? Me personally, I feel a little embarrassed to take my lipstick out of my purse to put lipstick on, at the dinner table or to rush to put lipstick on before taking pictures. So, I found the solution with this lip primer. This really makes your lipstick last longer, looking perfect, and with very little touch-ups.

What is on my vanity this month

These are the makeup products that I've been reaching out this month when I am getting ready for work:

I love this burgundy eye shadow from Estee Lauder. It came in the last Christmas set that was available at Macy's. The whole palette has many wearable eye shadows for day and evening. I love it!

My Mally Volumizing Mascara, Urban Decay eye liner in black and my Chanel double wear lipstick.

My current favorite blush palette. It contains a matte bronzer and three shades of blusher.

And of course my Amazing Cosmetics concealer and my Garnier BB cream in Medium/Deep shade.

Garnier BB Cream

After reading Jannie' s post about the benefits of BB creams, I started my quest to find a drugstore version of this wonder. I was sad to find out that it was not going to be as easy as I thought. Finally, after been looking fo a while, I found this Garnier BB cream at a Rite Aid store. I have been using it for three weeks and I have no complaints about it. None.

So, these are my thoughts about it:

• Coverage: Very good. Evens out skin and I don't need to use under eye concealer. Could be used as a primer or alone.
• Consistency: A mix of a light moisturizer and a light foundation. More like a tinted moisturizer, but with an additive to it that I don't know how to describe it.
• Wearability: Last all day and it does not change color throughout the day.
• Finish: A glowy, dewy finish. Very lovely finish.
• Smell: Does not smell bad. I read some reviews and it seems that the smell bothers some people. But, honestly, it is not bad. 
• Value: Approximate $14.00, very affordable for what it is.

Verdict: It is a pretty good affordable product. A little of this product goes a long way, so it will last you for a few months.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today is St. Patrick's Day and it is a GORGEOUS day. I got up early and had a nutritious breakfast and I am ready to go out to enjoy this sunny day.
I will celebrate this day wearing a pretty ring that I got from JewelMint.com. Some people say that it looks cheap and that I probably could have gotten something similar at Forever21 for less money. But I don't care because I love it and I love the green color. Also, I love that it is two rings, so I can wear one on each hand. I painted my nails in green (well, it looks more like a black than a green) and I am wearing my four clover bracelet also from JewelMint.com.

This coming week is my birthday and I really don't know how to feel about it. I have to have a medical surgery on Tuesday (nothing major, but a bit scary and disappointing) So, I am guessing that I will not be able to celebrate as I would like to. But, hey....a new year is a blessing and in general, my health is great and I have sooooo many blessings in my life that I cannot complaint.

Tarte The Miracle of Maracuja 8-pc Skin Smart Collection

I just order this set from QVC.com after too much hesitation (I couldn't resist the temptation) My inbox  received a few emails about this excellent and unique offer from Tarte. Also, a few of the blogs that I follow made reference about this set, so I got convinced that I've got to have it.
In another note, I am very disappointed on MyGlam bag for the month of March. Last week I got so excited when I saw the beautiful pink envelop in my mailbox, but I felt very disappointed when I opened it.
I was like: where are the high end products that people got in the December bag, or the full sizes in the January bag? The February bag (which was my first one) was not so bad. What I received this month was a bunch of one-time-use mini samples and a bunch of promo stuff that do not appel to me. The only good thing, was a a pink brush holder with a crease brush inside. I can definitely use this case to put my small brushes inside when I travel. Other than that, the whole bag is a disaster. I am thinking on canceling my subscription. Have any of you heard about Beauty Army?

Daily Nuggets:

• A blood test showed that my bad colesterol is too low. The medical assistant suggested that I have to bring this number up. Shocking!!!! Are you supposed to have low levels of bad colesterol. I am very confused!!!
• I waited for my honey bunny while he was getting a hair cut. I felt bad for being seated there while other customers were standing.....Anyway, my honey bunny looked so handsome after his hair cut.
• Today was the graduation of one of our skill training classes at work and I had just one small piece of cake. Not bad since I am the one always  eating three slices of cake at every party. Shame on me....
